Governor Jay Inslee Joins SW Washington High Tech Council to Talk Education and Workforce Development

What a week!

We were privileged to be joined by Washington Governor Jay Inslee Thursday, February 20th at SEH America in Vancouver for the SW Washington High Tech Council.

About the SW Washington High Tech Council

The HTC was created to support the high tech industry in SW Washington. The Council also represents electronics manufacturers that support aerospace, instrumentation and unmanned systems industries in the region.

Inslee was there for an update on the SW Washington HTC program for education and workforce development. The program provides internships and apprenticeships to high school and college students to learn and gain experience in careers in manufacturing. Through programs like this, the goal is to bring similar experiences to 70% of all high school students in Washington as part of their curriculum by the year 2030.

As a family owned business operating in the region since 1971, ControlTek is proud to be a member of the High Tech Council and to support its mission of ensuring economic well-being and quality of life for Clark County citizens. Principal and Co-Owner Stacey LaFrazia Smith was at the event to represent the ControlTek organization

She told us:

“Living, working and raising a family in Clark County has been a wonderful experience. I’d like to ensure future generations have the same if not better opportunities for employment, education and lifestyle with support from our high tech business community.”

Stacey Smith is Principal and co-owner of ControlTek where she has held positions in Human Resources, Marketing and Business Management. Stacey is committed to building long term relationships that bring value to organizations, customers and the community.
