Event Wrap-Up: PNAA and MD&M West

We’re in the height of conference season for 2020 and the ControlTek team recently wrapped up trips to the PNAA Annual Conference in Seattle and MD&M West down in Anaheim, California.
About PNAA
As usual we were so impressed to see the sheer magnitude of the Aerospace industry in the United States and the amount of local talent that supports the industry. Even with the grounding of Boeing's 737 Max the commercial industry remains massive, including traditional giants like Boeing and Airbus and even some newbies, like the Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation’s SpaceJet family of aircraft (Mitsubishi is of course a Japanese company but the company also has a facility in Renton, Washington).
In addition to commercial airplanes, there are plenty of exciting things happening in the more specialized world of Military Aerospace as well. Several OEMs right here in the Pacific Northwest currently serve this industry, and we expect to see this pattern of growth continue through 2020 and beyond. This is due in large part to the amount and complexity of custom electronics Military aircrafts require, and the strength of the technical knowledge and talent found here in the Northwest.
This year, ControlTek Principal Stacey Smith had the opportunity to attend several “B2B Meetups” during the PNAA Conference. These meetups provided a great opportunity to make new connections with companies that are a good fit for ControlTek’s integrated design, manufacturing, and test capabilities.
“The meetups were great,” Stacey tells us. “They provided OEMs and contract manufacturers a forum to communicate current challenges and solutions in a convenient, compressed format.”
As a designated Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, ControlTek is well prepared to serve Defense, Military, Aerospace and Aviation customers.
About MD&M West 2020
MD&M West is currently in its 35th year, and it shows. The sheer number of companies and people dedicated to this industry and to the manufacturing of new medical devices is a sight to behold. According to the MD&M West website, the Life Science industry employs over 300,000 people in California alone! No wonder then that this conference brings people from all over the industry each year to share ideas and explore new technologies, and that’s really where this show shines. Walking the show floor, there is a massive number of products being displayed and the event offers a great opportunity to catch product demos and try out some of the many new products available.
